Loan Supports For-sale Modular Homes
CHFA recently provided $4,625,000 through its Single Family Construction Loan Program to support The Crossing development in Buena Vista. The loan will fund the construction of 14 modular homes produced by Fading West Development, a local modular construction company. Upon completion, the homes will be purchased by Chaffee Housing Trust, who will qualify buyers and sell the homes to local residents with incomes at or below 100 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) and preserve long-term affordability through a land trust model. These units will be part of a larger overall development designed for walkability, environmental sustainability, and community connectivity while offering housing options for households with a range of incomes and at various stages of life.

Investment Provides Gap Funding for Town Park
A $20,000 Community Investment Grant from CHFA will support the construction of a new pavilion in the Town Park and Outdoor Recreation Hub in Rico, a small town in Dolores County. The pavilion will be a key element of the new Hub, designed to be a multi-use, year-round space for events, recreation, and community connection. The Hub will provide significant economic benefits to the town, enhancing Rico’s capacity to host cultural events, farmers markets, concerts, and festivals, creating new opportunities for local artists, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations. In addition, the pavilion will help offset seasonal economic fluctuations by enabling winter use of the pavilion as an ice rink, sustaining activity in the slower months.
